The pre-Christmas time should be made more pleasant again with a good dose of quality music – in this case the traditional Christmas concert of Michal Prokop with the group Framus Five. This group has been playing together for more than 57 years and this year their traditional Christmas music celebration will take place on 21 December 2024 at the Forum Karlín. We hope you will not miss it.
This year Michal Prokop and Framus Five will be joined by several interesting guests. Milan Kňažko will come from Slovakia – one of the representatives of November 1989, but also a great actor and an unexpected singer with a distinctive and somewhat Cohen-like expression. Since 2019, he has been collaborating with composer, lyricist and bassist Marian Zima and other personalities from the Story project. The younger generation will be represented by Michal Skořepa, who is currently working on his solo music and art project Pan Lynx. His last year’s debut album “Kdo se bojí, musí do lesa” received a nomination at the Anděl Awards and became the discovery of the year at the Žebřík Awards.
Michal Prokop and his Framus Five are one of the most important bands in Czech rock history. The group’s origins can be traced back to 1963, but its real history under its current name dates back to 1967, when the current guitarist Michal Prokop first took to the microphone as a singer. This spring, Framus Five began work on their tenth album, which is expected to be released next spring. Several songs from the forthcoming album will be premiered at the Christmas concert at the Forum Karlín.
