Rock giants Skillet are returning to the Czech Republic in May to rock Forum Karlín. The Skillet quartet, headed by married couple John and Korey Cooper, does not need a long introduction. She has a huge fan base in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and her popularity is still growing. This is proven not only by frequent returns as part of European tours, but also by the ever-increasing concert spaces where the band brings its shows.
Last year, Skillet scored one of the best domestic performances on the main stage of the Rock for People festival, and in recent years they have repeatedly pleased their fans both at concerts in Prague and Brno. And they still don’t have enough! The Prague stop of the upcoming “DAY OF DESTINY” tour will take place as part of the Rock for People Concerts series on May 6, 2023 at Foru Karlín. Ticket sales start on Friday, February 10 from 10:00 a.m. at prices of CZK 1,190 (Standing) and CZK 1,990 (Golden Circle) in the Ticketmaster network.
Skillet are rightly ranked among the most successful rock bands of the 21st century. To their credit, they have sold over twelve million records, are holders of a platinum record for the album Awake, winners of the Billboard Music Awards and have received several nominations for the Grammy Awards. Their videos have millions of views on YouTube – after all, the single Monster alone has over 400 million views. Additionally, this single is double platinum.
On their eleventh full-length album, Dominion, Skillet encourage a different kind of revolt at a time when the world really needs it… “I call it positive rebellion,” says frontman John Cooper. “It’s a rebellion against those internal elements like fear and anxiety. It’s a rebellion against external forces that want you to be something you don’t want to be. It’s a celebration of the freedom we have in life. It’s very anti- establishment. It’s a rallying cry to stand up for what you believe in. And don’t be silenced. It might be unpopular in certain places, but there’s nothing rockier than that,” he smiles.
