After five years, UDG are releasing a new serial album called Přístav, which contains a total of twelve songs. To the last three singles Parfémy, Plachty and Once again, the band added nine new songs, thus completing a new collection of songs. The album was created in the Sun Music studio in collaboration with Michal Šenbauer, and by releasing it, the boys from the band gave themselves and their fans an early gift for this Christmas.
“We know Michal as a musician and organizer of the Okoř with Juice festival, and we chose him on purpose. He is an exceptional person who is not stressed by anything, he is not going anywhere and creates a great atmosphere in the studio. This is what we were looking for for the creation of a new album,” says singer Petr Vrzák about the selection of the studio.
This is the sixth consecutive album and is being released 5 years after Emotikon’s last act. “We can’t make songs like on a treadmill, they go through a personal and band sieve. It is similar with the lyrics. Things have to mature and we have to go through something to create a new record. Authenticity in creating and recording is becoming more and more important for us,” comments guitarist Bohumil Němeček. “Having a band is a dream come true and a certain curse at the same time. We are still on the road, we are still leaving and returning, we are still missing and we are still missing. On those endless voyages, there are many temptations to which we resist or are subject. Life with a band is the life of sailors, beautiful but also destructive to a person’s personality or to life in a relationship. The port is a symbol of the home to which one returns, but also a place from which he disappears into the open sea, which attracts him fatally. This is a theme that permeates the entire album,” explains drummer Jugi.
The album Přístav was released on December 3 and will be christened by UDG on May 26 at the Karlín Forum in Prague, where fans can look forward to all the old gems and new songs from the album. “We were supposed to celebrate the band’s 20th birthday in Karlín, but due to the pandemic, the concert was moved three times. At least we combine two pleasant celebrations at once. Birth and baptism of the new album. It will be big!” Bassist Pavel Vrzák attracts to the double celebration.
The new date of the concert is May 26, 2022. All tickets for the previous date remain valid.
